Where to Find Word Count for WordPress Posts (2023)

You can find the word count feature for WordPress posts in the Guttenberg block editor by first clicking on the ‘Document Overview’ icon just after the ‘Redo’ button above your blog post title.

After that, you will see two headings in the drop-down window namely List View and Outline.

All you need to do to see the word count for your WordPress post is click on ‘Outline’.

And there you are! You will see the ‘word count right in the middle of ‘Characters’ above and ‘Time to Read’ beneath.

  1. Make sure you are working with the WordPress Guttenberg editor.

You can enter this space by clicking on the ‘New Post’ button in your WordPress dashboard.

  • Click on the Document Overview tab.

It is a slanting vertical three-dash icon right after the Redo icon.

  • Click on Outline
